DRAWING.

I am fascinated by lines. I like to watch them dance and twist, both fat and thin rough and smooth smudged and hard. Spilling out free flowing, all knowing their predestined placement on the pearly
blank
page
they decorate.

Sometimes I stumble upon something that seems important to investigate further. So I did.
Circles
They are whole holy
and secure.
peaceful and unbroken
I felt
upon completion
a creation
both square and round.

Organic filaments flowing outward searching for something
anything
beyond self.
Because sometimes it is not enough
isolated our own bubbles of selfhood
Alien contact must be made.
-Both of these works acrylic paint and conté.-

One night
overwhelmed by flitting pieces ungathered I needed decompression.
yellow light glazed rays of a lamp overhead
the only witness
brain's contents cascaded
I abandoned them there frozen on paper
I moved on.

SKETCHBOOKING:

What are clouds made of?
Clouds are people's dreams that got lost
And now live in the sky.
The dreams that got away.
-Acrylic paint, colored pencil, pen & ink-

A face. Whose? A reflection. Whose?
It's like a carnival mirror.
-Acrylic paint applied with Q-tip, pen & ink-

Pods and cocoons.
-Pencil-

A long day at the strawberry stand.
SNARFBARGLE and hatching wood grain.
-Faber Castle india ink pens-

"Come, seeling night,/Scarf up the tender eye of pitiful day..."
"Good things of day begin to droop and drowse..."
-Shakespeare's Macbeth (I was reading it at the time)
-Faber Castle india ink pens-

Inspired by knots in wood. Enrapturing little universes, they are.
Where no man has gone before
They must be explored.
-Faber Castle india ink pens, Crayola markers, Sharpies-

Cloud Pipes.

PAINTING:

An experiment in texture, using the palate knife.
-Acrylic paint and various mediums-

Texture pictures. Because compelling surfaces mesmerize me.
